ABOUT
I am currently pursuing an MA Fine Art at UCA Canterbury, aiming to merge my for visual art and material culture with my background in Politics and French. My focus is on the intersection of colonial and postcolonial history with visual art material cultures, particularly exploring how identity, language, art, craft and power converge under French colonial and in the postcolonial Francophonie. I am interested in examining significant impacts of colonialism and postcolonial movements on contemporary societies, especially in former colonies in North Africa and the Global South, along with their artistic and material expressions. I have recently published a research paper analysing the representation of pieds-noirs in French and Algerian classical literature and comics.
